Treat yourself… to a divorce

December 16, 2021 | Divorce, Firm News

It’s been a hard year. It’s been a hard two years. Let’s be honest, it’s been hard for a while, and it’s time. It’s time to look at all the things you’ve missed out on and all the things you’ve wanted to do but couldn’t and take the first step.

You might think that divorce is a selfish thing to consider, but staying in your marriage isn’t making you any happier. It’s time to put your happiness first. You wouldn’t be the only one, either. Some of the most common reasons people choose to divorce are:

You’ve changed

When you started your marriage, you thought things would be one way and thought that was a great plan. But now, years have passed, and what you wanted then doesn’t match who you are now. You do not have to spend the rest of your life pursuing a dream you no longer have.

They’ve changed

You may have once had a partner for every occasion, but now they don’t have any interest in what you do together. You set out on a path with a partner; now it feels like you’re doing all the work. You deserve to move forward with someone who wants what you want.

Career opportunities

Your career is one of the most important things to you, and if your partner doesn’t support it, that’s too bad. You get to choose your future. You do not have to include anyone or anything that stands in the way of the work that you love.

You’re just done

We could go on and name all the possible reasons you may have to end your marriage, but really, there is only one that matters. You know you’re done. You’ve worked at it. You’ve tried your best, and there is nothing much left for you.

Every year people make this decision. Every year people move forward. You deserve to be happy and take a chance on yourself.
