At Contreras Law Firm we are all about women empowerment, we love being female attorneys and today we’d like to share with you some of the most famous female lawyers that have been recognized for their practice.

1. Gloria Allred

Gloria Rachel Allred is an American civil rights lawyer who stands out for taking high-level and often controversial cases; another of Allred’s particular characteristics is that she takes cases that involve the protection of women’s rights. The New Republic has labeled her a “master of the press conference”.

2. Caroline Kennedy

Caroline Bouvier Kennedy is an American author, lawyer and currently is US Ambassador to Japan. Caroline is a prominent member of the Kennedy family and the only surviving child of President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. In addition, she is the niece of Senators Robert F. Kennedy and Ted Kennedy, and elder sister of the deceased John F. Kennedy, Jr.

3. Kristine Lefbvre

Kristine Leigh Lefebvre is a lawyer born in Frankfurt, Germany. She participated in the reality show of NBC The Apprentice and managed to be part of the finalist group, however, soon after was dismissed. Kristine’s accomplishments to attain a place on the show include her education and career as a lawyer. Her undergraduate degree is from Metropolitan State College in Denver and completed her law degree at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. As a professional, she has represented celebrities Shaquille O’Neal and Dan Marino, as well as the Staples Center sports complex and the Los Angeles Kings hockey team.

4. Ruth Joan Bader Ginsburg

Ruth Joan Bader Ginsburg is a Supreme Court Justice of the United States. Ginsburg was appointed by President Bill Clinton and took the oath of office on August 10, 1993. She is the second female judge and the first Jew to take that position; and is generally regarded as belonging to the liberal wing of the Court. Before becoming a judge, Ginsburg spent a significant part of her legal career as a lawyer for the advancement of women’s rights.

5. Kay Hagan

Janet Kay Ruthven Hagan is an American politician who served as Senator of the United States representing North Carolina from 2009 to 2015. Previously served in the North Carolina Senate from 1999 to 2009; she is also a member of the Democratic Party. When Hagan defeated Republican Elizabeth Dole in the 2008 Senate election, she became the first woman to defeat another woman in a Senate election.
