Advantages of hiring female lawyer

On Behalf of | May 2, 2017 | Family Law

Family law matters, such as divorce and custody of children, are often very personal and attract high-conflict litigation. That is why many clients strategically select the gender of their lawyer, and despite the opinion of others, this strategy can be beneficial, and more when it comes to hiring a female lawyer.

Although more men are dedicated to being judges and lawyers, this is the reason why it can be an advantage to hire a female lawyer, taking into consideration the credibility she brings to the courtroom: it is often considered that women are fairer, more reasonable and less combative than men; as a result, a presentation by a female litigator can influence the judges, judges and opposing counsel in a way that the male counterpart cannot do.

A female lawyer will always strive for the best interest of her clients, but she will do so in a very different way than men. Instead of being unreasonable or abrasive, a good female litigator will appeal to compassion and sense of right in her fight to get the most for her client. In addition, a woman will listen fully to her client to better understand their needs and wants for the end result.

It is well known that the tendency of the law is to advance through collaboration. With this in mind it is important to mention that men are biologically connected to fight and attack, and women are more likely to negotiate and seek the best outcome through exchange. Although some clients prefer an aggressive lawyer, female lawyers appeal to the mass of clients, jurors and judges who favor civility and compromise to achieve a faster but favorable resolution; however, a female litigator can be as aggressive and stern as a man when she feels it is necessary. Also, women tend to be more inquisitive and open to negotiation through non-traditional tactics, which is almost always more beneficial, since an aggressive approach often becomes a dead end.

Finally, women are naturally connected to prioritize. Like a computer, they process simultaneous tasks, in addition to planning a large amount of work. One of the most popular rumors is that women are better when it comes to multitasking than men; true or not, it is proven that the human brain can be trained to do almost anything, including multitasking. A good female lawyer will always be ready to use her prioritization skills in even the most complex of cases.
